OUR STORY

Dog House Collectables started the way every great collection does — with a kid who never grew out of it.

WHERE IT BEGAN
Founder Blake has been collecting since he was born in '88. It started with NRL cards, then came Pokémon, Marvel cards and Magic — all by the age of seven. His Nan owned a pawn shop, and Blake would make her set aside the Franklin Mint collectable knives for his birthday and Christmas presents. Even the cool rocks he found as a kid got kept. Some people are just born collectors.

Like a lot of us, the teenage years brought distractions — girls and football took over, followed by a seven-year MMA career through his early twenties. But the hobby never really left. In his late twenties, Blake found his way back to collecting, and it's been full throttle ever since.

THE LEAP
Blake spent his whole working life in the meat industry, eventually opening and running his own company specialising in high-quality Wagyu beef, supplying butchers and high-class restaurants. It was a success — but it wasn't the dream. So he sold up and decided to do the thing he'd always wanted: live the hobby.

Dog House Collectables was born.

A FAMILY AFFAIR
This isn't a faceless store. It's run by Blake, his wife, and their two daughters — Willow (6) and Layla (3). The whole family is part of it. You'll even catch the girls starring in our socials with "Daddy Daughter Ripz," our pack-opening show.

And then there's the dog. Rogue, our American Staffy, named after the X-Men character — the inspiration behind the name and the logo. Why "Dog House"? Because every collector knows the feeling of being in the dog house with their other half for spending a little too much on cardboard. We've all been there. Now there's a place that gets it.

MORE THAN A STORE
Step inside and you'll see straight away this isn't your average card shop. Custom cabinets, unique shelving, proper tables and leather lounges, an arcade and big-screen TVs. We built it to be a hobby clubhouse, not a checkout counter.

We'd genuinely rather you hang out, rip some packs and have a laugh than buy and run home. That's the whole point.

Oh — and if you spot the graded Charizard guarded by our bearded dragon Charmander? That one's not for sale. Blake traded for it as a kid when the set first came out. Some things you just don't let go of.
